A Margarita Bucket just might be the easiest way to prepare a frozen Margarita. With no blending required, it’s perfect for the pool or the beach, or maybe just laying on the couch, digging in with a spoon like a pint of Ben & Jerry’s.
Below you will find a recipe to create your own Margarita Bucket. It’s so easy and only requires 4 ingredients. But if you’re not interested in this DIY project, you can purchase a bucket from Amazon for about $15, just add your own Tequila. Here’s a link to buy a ready to use bucket:
I was nervous to make a whole gallon size bucket, because I didn’t want to waste any Tequila or Cointreau if it didn’t turn out. So I used my husband’s paint buckets to test the recipe. I used the 2-Quart bucket, but just cut the recipe in half to use the 1-Quart for a smaller serving.
Even better, if you do want to make the full gallon, a great container to use would be those large gallons of ice cream, in the plastic containers with the handle. Not sure what the brand is, but I see them everywhere in the ice cream aisle. Now all you need to do is eat alllllll the ice cream, then use the container to make Margaritas.
For some people this would be super easy but unfortunately I cannot eat a whole gallon of ice cream in 24 hours, so I’m using what we have on hand, paint buckets… But A+ for creativity!
Whatever you use, just make sure it has a lid.
So let’s make our own Margarita Bucket!
- Frozen Margarita Mix (about 10 oz)
- 1 cup Silver Tequila
- 1/2 cup Cointreau
- 1 liter of Sprite/Lemon-Lime Soda (I happened to have Diet Lemon-Lime Soda in our pantry but you can use regular)
Combine all the ingredients into a container and mix thoroughly.
Freeze for at least 8 hours.
I just froze mine overnight and yes, I was so excited the next morning I did a little taste test at 8 am and I loved it! This is probably one of my favorite recipes I’ve tried so far. I will be making this all summer!
Let’s check this Margarita off the bucket list!!!
